Ineos Grenadier or Jeep Wrangler 2020, which is better?

It seems that we are witnessing a trend of pure off-road vehicles, pure vehicles designed for the field and the most difficult working conditions. Why do we say this? Because Ford has just put the Ford Bronco on the market (although it does not arrive in Spain at the moment), Land Rover has completely renewed its Defender and Jeep also continues to bet on its Wrangler.

Are you looking for a new car? Here is the easiest way to find it

And to this palette of true 4x4 models, another very interesting model has just appeared: the Ineos Grenadier. It is manufactured with a stringer chassis, its suspension is developed from rigid axles and its design is far from current SUVs. But weren't traditional off-roaders dead? So we ask ourselves: Ineos Grenadier or Jeep Wrangler 2020, which is better?

Ineos? Yes, Ineos. And his first model is the Ineos Grenadier. It is a British company dedicated to the manufacture of petrochemical products whose president is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is also a car lover and seasoned adventurer.

It has many virtues, among them reliability and robustness. To this is added another: for example, the headlights are identical to facilitate and cheapen their replacement. In the doors there will be some protective strips that can carry an optional tool belt and in the rear, loads or accessories, such as a drum, can be placed.

Although the rear doors have two leaves and the smaller one is the one that will be used more to load small objects, the two bodies open, through the hole they leave you can load a Euro pallet that fits perfectly into your cabin.

In Ineos they say that the design of the Grenadier has been made starting from a blank sheet, but it seems evident that they have paid enough attention to those who have been working in the segment for decades and something more than necessary in the Defender, so much so that Ineos remembers too much to a Santana 2000. Which is fine, but they could have given it one more turn and made it more modern, that is a clear flaw in the Ineos Grenadier.

BMW engines tuned to offer more for low revs, permanent all-wheel drive with lockable axles made by Carraro, ZF automatic gearbox and chassis with aluminum panels made by Gestamp. We will not say here that equipping components of the best is going to be a defect, but from them it is intuited that the price of the Grenadier cannot be cheap in any way.

In the other corner of the ring we find the Jeep Wrangler, a model that was completely renewed in 2018 and that, unlike the new Bronco, is marketed both in the United States and in Europe thanks to the reach of the FCA Group. This model is also available with both a three-door and a five-door body and is the main rival to beat for Ford with its new 4x4.

Starting with dimensions, the three-door Wrangler offers 4,334mm in length, 1,894mm in width and 1,858mm in height, with a 2,459mm wheelbase. By contrast, the five-door Jeep increases its length to 4,882 mm, its height to 1,881 mm and its wheelbase to 3,008 mm. The width remains unchanged. Meanwhile, the trunk has a volumetric capacity of 192 liters in the three-door version, and 548 liters in the five-door version. The original headlights are not cool enough, you may think about the Jeep Wrangler Color Changing Halo Led Headlights for upgrading, this is cool enough for your Wrangler.

In the engine section, we find both gasoline and diesel engines. The first are the 2.0 turbo with 270 hp and 400 Nm of torque, available only with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the diesel is the 200 hp 2.2 CRD four-cylinder, also available with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In the United States, a version with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp is also marketed.

As for the off-road dimensions, the three-door version has an approach angle of 35.2 degrees, a breakover angle of 29.2 degrees and a departure angle of 29.2 degrees. On the other hand, the five-door version has an approach angle of 34.8 degrees, a breakover angle of 29.9 degrees and a departure angle of 19.2 degrees. Prices start at 51,100 euros for the three-door version, and 55,100 euros for the five-door. There are no prices for the Ineos yet, since it will be sold in 2022.

How to Adjust a Jeep Cherokee XJ Roof Rack

The Jeep Cherokee XJ is one of the most popular sports utility vehicles of all time. Made from 1984 through 2001, the Cherokee comes with many options, including an adjustable roof rack system for hauling extra gear. The roof rack system is adjustable by moving the cross members forward or backward to obtain the desired position to secure the load. The Cherokee offroad accessories like Jeep Cherokee xj led headlights or  Adjusting the roof rack is basically the same process for all Cherokee XJ models, although there are slight differences between model years. Things You'll Need Page 1 quarter or other large coin (for older Cherokee models).

Examine the ends of the front crossmember where it secures to the stationary (lengthwise) tracks on the roof. On newer models, you will see a push button release mechanism. Older models have a mechanism in the form of a metal wheel with vertical grooves. Determine what type of system your vehicle has.

Press the driver's side crossbar release button. Hold the release button down and slide the end of the crossbar forward or backward to the desired position. Release the button. Repeat this procedure for the other end of the cross member. Repeat for the second cross member.

Position a quarter or other large coin in one of the adjustment wheel slots. Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise with the coin to loosen the crossmember end. Slide the crossbar forward or backward to the desired position. Tighten the adjusting wheel by turning clockwise with the coin. Repeat the process at the other end of the header and the second header.
