The Jeep Cherokee XJ Regular Specification

Once Jeep, a subsidiary of Chrysler, broke away from its strictly military production line in the mid-1900s, it began making more wagon-inspired utility vehicles for consumers. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Jeep Wagoneer was a popular sport utility vehicle among American car buyers and enthusiasts. Jeep was the first division to cash in on the popularity of the sport utility, and by the mid-1980s it had fully captured the attention of car consumers. The Jeep Cherokee XJ was introduced in 1984 and production continued through 2001 in the United States.

Different types of engines were available for the Cherokee XJ throughout its production years. Jeep Cherokee XJ vehicles between 1984 and 2001 were equipped with an AMC 2.5-liter four-cylinder standard, 150 cubic inches. In 1984 and 1985, four-cylinder engines were built around the carbureted design of earlier model cars, while models built afterward received fuel-injected performance. Engines built after 1990 received an updated version of the technology, the aptly named Multi-Port Injection (MPI). Now it is time to upgrade with Jeep Cherokee xj led headlights, better view means safer. While earlier models of the XJ four-cylinder engines only put out between 105 and 117 horsepower, the newer 2.5-liter MPI models produce approximately 135 horsepower and 139 foot-pounds of torque. The six-cylinder engines available for the Cherokee XJ followed a similar progression in power and efficiency as the smaller, four-cylinder engines during the XJ's lifetime. Beginning in 1987, a 4.0-liter inline-six engine was introduced as an option. The electronic fuel-injected engine was advertised at 177 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of tor que, and was quickly replaced by a more powerful version in 1990. From 1991 to 1995, the same Power Tech six-cylinder came with a MPI design and produced 190 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque, which rose to 225 ft-lbs of torque from 1995 to 2001. A diesel engine, on the other hand, was offered on 1985-2001 XJ models. 87, making just 85 horsepower and 132 foot-pounds of torque.

Like most Jeeps available before and after the XJ, a beefy powertrain was at the forefront of each model. In 1984, consumers could choose between two four-speed manual transmissions: the Borg-Warner T4 and Aisin-Warner AX4. A five-speed Borg-Warner manual transmission was also offered as an option that year, along with select engines. Subsequently, Aisin-Warner took over manufacturing duties for the AX5 and AX15 five-speed manual transmissions for the following years. From 2000 to 2001, it was available for four-cylinder diesel or six-cylinder gas models from an optional five-speed transmission from New Venture. For consumers who opted for the automatic transmission, a slimmer selection was offered. From 1984 to 1986, the Cherokee XJ featured an optional upgrade to a Chrysler A904 three-speed automatic transmission. From 1987 to 2001, the Aisin-Warner AW4 four-speed automatic transmission was offered to buyers for both engine types. During its production, the Cherokee XJ reverted to New Process for transfer case mounting. Command-Trac and Select-Trac units were available for all XJ models, depending on whether the vehicle was two or four wheel drive.

To complement the XJ's performance and capable transmissions, Jeep turned to Dana Holding Corporation for much of its axle production. Two wheel drive models of the time, jeep mounted straight non-active front axles. With slight variations, the Dana 30 front axle was used for four-wheel drive XJs from 1984 through 2001. From 1984 through 2001, the Dana 35 rear axle came standard on all Cherokee XJs, both with and without the system. anti-lock brakes (ABS). Some models between 1991 and 2001 came with the Chrysler 8.25-inch rear axle, which did not have ABS at all. Axle gear ratios ranged from 3.07:1 to 4.56:1, based on transmission and engine options. You may find more aftermarket replacement like Jeep Wrangler led headlights, fog lights, tail lights etc from us.

Jeep offers select trim packages and appearance options to consumers, primarily for a sense of personalization. Between the 1984 and 1992 model years, Jeep offered a multitude of package options, each with individual exterior graphics to distinguish them from other models. The Laredo and Briarwood Wagoneer, Pioneer, Chief packages were all short-lived editions, due in part to the demand for each. The Limited and Sport packages remained in the XJ lineup from the beginning to the end of production. With a variety of upgrade options from the base model, both the Limited and Sport models separate the other models in the Jeep Cherokee lineup from slight body differences to drastic interior options.

5 Virtues and A Flaw of the Jeep Wrangler 2018

Today we are going to analyze the 5 virtues and a defect of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, the new generation of the popular American 4x4 and everything it offers us.

Although it has not yet finished arriving, the new generation of the best-known Jeep of all is gradually revealing all the news that it will bring us in the immediate future, since the start of its commercialization is scheduled for this very year 2018. The stock light of turn signal is not attractive enough, you may upgrade with Jeep JL switchback turn signal lights, very functional. For this reason , if you are one of the possible new buyers, today I bring you the 5 virtues and a defect of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, so that you know everything it offers us.

It was initially revealed at the end of last year on the occasion of the 2017 Los Angeles Motor Show, although only the first details of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler and a series of images were released. Later, new details were introduced and additional images were revealed that gave us a preview of the appearance of the interior. Now, although we do not know even the smallest of its details, we are going to analyze the strengths of the new generation of the Jeep 4x4.

Often, when we talk about authentic 4x4s, we notice the few models that are currently on the market, such as the Mitsubishi Montero, the Toyota Land Cruiser or the Mercedes G-Class. Among them we also find the new Jeep Wrangler, which, together with the already extinct Land Rover Defender, is considered one of the few original SUVs still on the market.

And, as a self-respecting off-roader, one of the virtues that characterize the 2018 Wrangler is its off-road capabilities. These are measured through the angle of attack, 44 degrees (previously 42.2); the exit one, 37 degrees (before 32.3), and the ventral one, 27.8 degrees (before 25.8), while the ground clearance is 27.4 centimeters (before 26.2) and the maximum wading depth is maintained with respect to its predecessor at 76.2 cm.

Among the improvements that engineers have applied to the new generation of the Jeep Wrangler with respect to its predecessor, is a weight reduction of up to 90 kilograms. This has been possible thanks to the measures taken in its design, as well as the use of aluminum in many panels, such as the doors, the roof or the windshield frame. Jeep Wrangler headlights change size in the forth generation. This leads us to highlight the versatility of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler as a virtue, as the roof and C-pillar, along with the doors and all windows, can be removed from the bodywork without compromising structural integrity. This makes it easy to clean the interior and have a more adventurous look.

At the moment the engines with which the new Jeep Wrangler will arrive in Spain are unknown, but in its native country, the United States, it will be offered with two gasoline engines, a 2.0 with a twin-entry turbocharger and 270 hp and a V6 3.6-liter with 260 hp, as well as a 3.0-liter diesel with 260 hp. It will also be available with a six-speed manual transmission and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

One of the most important advances that the new Wrangler has presented is found in the equipment, which makes it an improvement. In the instrument panel we now find a 3.5 or 7-inch screen, while the multimedia system is presented with another touch screen integrated into the dashboard that can be 5, 7 or 8.4 inches depending on the level of finish. In the previous generation, the design was much more austere and limited, something in which Jeep has taken a big step forward.

The main fault of the Jeep Wrangler is found in a difficult market, difficult for several reasons. In the first place, due to fierce competition such as that of SUVs, as well as a series of regulations that limit the use of off-road SUVs. In addition, its powerful mechanics condition aspects such as emissions or fuel consumption, details that can mean that many buyers end up not opting for the Wrangler.

Test Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the Most Powerful and the Most Ecological

Here you have the test of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe the PHEV or plug-in hybrid version that with 380 hp becomes the most powerful in the history of Jeep. An electrified Wrangler? Yes, this process is unstoppable even for the toughest models on the market. Does it affect your offroad capabilities? This is what I want to check...

But first let me tell you about its guts: it inherits the 4xe technology from the Renegade and the Compass but without changing its image. only the Electric Blue color in the exterior details give it away. Try Jeep Wrangler led headlights replacement, they are affordable for upgrading the vehicle.

You will only see it with a single body size, the 4-door Jeep Wrangler, while the 2-door version will only be offered with gasoline mechanics (diesel variants are no longer offered). There are three finishes: Sahara, Rubicon, and the 80th Anniversary Special Edition.

The battery pack is protected in an aluminum casing, it is mounted under the rear seats and therefore they are not exposed to water. This location allows maintaining the same load capacity as in the combustion Wrangler, that is, up to 533 liters.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid system combines a turbocharged gasoline engine plus two other electric motors: in total they offer 380 CV of power and 637 Nm of torque, a force that is derived to the ground through an eight-speed automatic transmission ( the lithium-ion battery is 17.3 kWh).

With such cavalry, the Wrangler is very fast on the straight: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.4 seconds, which is a very good figure (it can reach 130 km / h in 100% electric mode).

There are three driving modes: Hybrid, Electric and E-Save. All this gives it greater versatility of use as it is no longer an unthinkable model in environments such as large cities.

It's strange to roll with a Wrangler that hardly rolls when moving. If things get complicated in the field, no problem: the off-road performance of the Wrangler 4xe is better than its combustion brothers, thanks to the instantaneous electric torque it is not necessary to increase the engine revolutions to make the tires move and it is possible to have greater control and precision.

Depending on the trim, two different four-wheel drive systems are offered: Selec-Trac for the Sahara 4xe and 80th Anniversary 4xe and Rock-Trac on the Rubicon 4xe. Off-road dimensions are excellent and identical to the petrol variant: approach angle of 36.6 degrees, breakover angle of 21.4 degrees, departure angle of 31.8 degrees and ground clearance of 253mm. In addition, it is capable of fording up to 76 cm of water.

It is difficult to reach the 45 kilometers of autonomy that the Wrangler PHEV announces, although to maximize autonomy the Max Regen function can be activated where regenerative braking is more intense (up to 0.25 g) so that more kinetic energy is recovered during deceleration phases.

Full charging takes two and a half hours in a 7.4 kW wallbox (in a conventional plug it takes around nine and a half hours). Price: The Jeep Wrangler 4xe costs 68,900 euros (without applied discounts), between 2,700 and 3,300 euros compared to the gasoline Wrangler.

KTM Join The Paths to Continue Advancing

The Austrian brand and the Spanish firm sign an agreement that could end in a total integration. They say that great agreements have to be cooked over a slow fire and it seems that the agreement between KTM and Gas Gas has been forged in a pot of clay and embers. It is undeniable and evident that KTM has had its sights set on Gas Gas for a long time, probably since before the bankruptcy was announced, back in July 2015. At that time the approaches began, but it has not been until now, when the Austrian has decided take sides of the situation.

KTM is undoubtedly becoming the Volkswagen Group of motorcycles, with numerous acquisitions here and there to complement its catalog on all fronts: there was even talk of a possible purchase of Ducati by KTM! Where they see an opportunity to grow, there they are, willing to drop euros in abundance. Looking for the KTM 500 exc led headlight? Here it is. And without a doubt, the Gas Gas brand with its Torrot electric motorcycle division represented a golden opportunity to grow.

But as I was saying, this agreement is marked by controversy, since the Gas Gas workers did not receive KTM well when it was interested for the first time. For this reason, KTM is not talking about an acquisition, but about the creation of a Joint Venture between KTM and Black Toro Capital, owner of the Gas Gas and Torrot brand. Gas Gas Motorcycles is born, with 60% of the capital in the hands of KTM.

The agreement looks very good for both parties, which in the end is what is important: that everyone is satisfied. Gas Gas will take advantage of KTM's technology and vast sales network to improve its products and better sell them around the globe. For its part, KTM will take advantage of Gas Gas' knowledge in the field of trial bikes, where the Austrian does not have much knowledge, and in electric bikes, a key factor for the future of mobility and of a large group like wants to be KTM.

It seems that everyone wins with this agreement. Gas Gas has a three-year cushion to continue with the Salt factory, in Girona, open and producing. An air cushion that you must know how to take advantage of to guarantee the continuity of the company. If the company is owned by KTM or Black Toro Capital, I don't think it is too relevant either: the important thing is to continue producing, continue generating jobs and continue generating wealth.

And I believe that this agreement will be as important for Gas Gas as the one signed by Seat with Volkswagen a few decades ago. If they know how to take advantage of their opportunity and manage to create the expected synergies, I believe that both brands can start a very profitable journey together. The important thing is to move forward and what would not be strange is that over time, KTM ends up taking 100% of the shares and full control of the Spanish firm. They want to be a monster on two wheels!

From a Luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee L to a Bar on Wheels

In the midst of shows that are canceled year after year, like the one in Geneva, and others that are reinvented with some success, like the German IAA that left the immense Frankfurt fairgrounds for the streets of Munich, there are events that do not change. One of them is the SEMA Show. And it's back.

Jeep is one of the brands that never misses this professional fair (it is not open to the public). And as in every edition, it has a lot of cars and concept cars. This year, there are only four Jeeps that the brand presents.

This year there are few, yes, but there is something for everyone. From what could be a new variant of the Jeep Wrangler to a Grand Cherokee L that wants to rival the Range Rover in luxury through a restomod.

This is perhaps the most interesting of the proposed concept cars, the Jeep Wrangler Overlook. It is longer than the Wrangler Unlimited. In fact, it is 30 cm longer. It not only adds cargo space, but also space for passengers by having a third row of seats.

It also stands out for its safari-style roof, something many SUVs and off-roaders had for years, from the Matra Rancho to the Land Rover Discovery LR4. This roof is one 12 cm higher than the roof of a normal Wrangler, the objective is to free up space under the roof for the passengers in the third row. The interior features black leather upholstery and bronze accents.

Other body changes include a custom hood, a front bumper with an improved angle of attack. It also features a black grille and additional Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) A-pillar headlights, as well as tubular side steps. The Overlook also features Fox shocks and 20-inch wheels with 37-inch tires.

At the moment it is just a concept car. Although if there is demand, perhaps Jeep will dare to a long version with three rows of seats of the Jeep Wrangler.

What would a bunch of Jeep SEMA preps be without at least one restomod. For this edition, they took an old Kaiser Jeep M725 military ambulance and turned it into a beastly bar truck, like a food truck but only serving drinks. Under its hood, we find a 6.4-liter V8 and 485 hp associated with an automatic transmission. This is actuated via a B&M gear lever housed in a repurposed ammunition box.

Of course, it maintains all-wheel drive and the original axles, but now with coil springs instead of the leaf springs of the original model. The wheels, of course, are 20 inches with 40-inch off-road tires.

The rear cargo area has been converted into a bar on wheels, with a drop-down side panel and drop-down roof. The interior counter features a couple of taps for serving beer. On the side, the Jeep radiator grille in the shape of bottles stands out, making it very clear what is being served.

The cabin is still pretty spartan - it was a military vehicle, after all - but it's painted the same sand color as the exterior and features a custom steering wheel, various aviation-style clocks that make up a dash, and Wrangler seats. covered with a canvas upholstery.

The big news this year at Jeep is the new Grand Cherokee, both in the Grand Cherokee L (long) and short Grand Cherokee versions, which we will see in Europe. And therefore could not miss the SEMA. This Grand Cherokee L is not so extreme in its pretensions off the asphalt.

What's more, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L Breckenridge is a proposal that explores the possibility of a luxurious, asphalt-oriented Jeep, to overshadow SUVs.

The body sports a custom two-tone paint, with the lower section in matte grey-blue and the roof in gloss black. The logos and grille are bronze. The roof is combined with a black cargo box. Notably, 21-inch wheels are available as an accessory through Mopar.

But the most striking thing is undoubtedly the interior. It has a blue leather upholstery baptized "Atmospheric Blue Palermo". Echoing the exterior, the door panels are gloss black with bronze accents.

The dashboard features real walnut wood trim, in a distinctly old school style. Jeep has taken care of every last detail, there are even some leather cushions for the rear seats and a set of personalized suitcases in the trunk.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid is the other great innovation from Jeep. It is normal, therefore, that there is a gap in the list of models that Jeep will exhibit in Las Vegas.

This Wrangler 4xe is a showcase for JPP and Mopar accessories intended for the Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe. Thus, it equips the new JPP lift kit designed expressly for the Wrangler 4xe that raises it 5 cm.

In addition, it has Fox shock absorbers. On the other hand, it is not visible to the naked eye, but the windshield is now made of Gorilla Glass (in principle, the most resistant glass in the world).

The rest of the installed accessories are more obvious, such as the steel bumper, winch, additional Jeep Wrangler LED headlights, tubular doors, rear fold-out table on the tailgate, tailgate hinge reinforcement and tailgate relocation kit. third brake light.

Finally, the beadlock rims, which prevent rim stripping, with 37-inch tires complete this catalog on wheels.

Our Test of Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

Heir to the Willys, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited offers authenticity and modernity with an inimitable look.Credit Photo – Autonews

Once swallowed, this specialty made in the USA is enough to satiate. Not us ! It would also be a shame to do without the traditional “large fries”. And then it's included in the menu... An accompaniment that always pleases, embodied by the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the mythical off-roader with crazy charm. Longer (4.88 m), higher (1.90 m), a little narrower (1.89 m) than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, it does not play in the same register. It represents the very image of Jeep, the 4x4 that goes everywhere and adapts to your desires, ready for adventure. At our disposal, the top-of-the-range Overland finish and the 272 horsepower four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine. Jeep jl sequential turn signals are recommended. You climb aboard, one foot on the running board, one hand on the handle of the windscreen pillar and settle down on leather-covered seats, beige this time, facing a vertical driving position, similar to those of the previous generation. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and now also in depth and the backrest tilts using a strap that is pulled to the side.

The high driving position gives the impression of dominating the road behind the narrow, almost vertical windshield. The long bonnet with rounded edges is a permanent reminder that you are on board a special vehicle. Our test model also sported a white star on it, as on the Willys of the Second World War. It moves away from it with its elongated five-door “Unlimited” body.

The Wrangler Unlimited is made for family off-roading but isn't so bad on the road. It's just not his favorite environment. More on the road than the extreme Wrangler Rubicon fighter, we took it in hand on well-paved terrain. No surprise, with its ladder chassis suitable for crossing, it is not intended for sport but its behavior is healthier than expected. However, it remains parasitized on tight curves by a rear axle that oscillates slightly laterally. Its engine, with a pleasant sound, ensures dynamic performance and is never struggling to tow the two tons of the Wrangler, supported by an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

There is space inside for five, including four real seats. Everyone will be seated upright, under an arch covered in black plastic, like a well-finished rally-raid car. It protects the occupants when there is no roof. Because everything is removable on the Wrangler, including the doors. The hard top can be disassembled into three parts, of which those located at the front can be removed in about ten seconds each. To store them or for luggage, the trunk can accommodate 548 liters of cargo. Folded back in two parts, the volume exceeds 1,000 litres.

BMW F800GS at the EICMA Milan Motor Show

BMW renews the F800GS and presents it at the 2015 Milan Motor Show, a model that comes with minor improvements.

BMW presents the revamped F800 GS at the EICMA 2015 Milan Motor Show, the mid-range trail bike that can be considered the little sister of the R1200GS, one of the most popular models in the large trail segment and a best-seller for the brand. Some models install with BMW F800GS led headlight to make it more beautiful. German. The F800GS, which has enjoyed a great reception since its launch, is now updated to continue being one of the benchmarks in the segment.

It debuts a new design of the tank cover and a new shape of the ignition lock cover, with a somewhat more modern and dynamic appearance. It also introduces galvanized components with a fine finish in the knee support areas and in the radiator cover, providing greater visual quality.

Along with this updated aesthetic, the 2016 F800 GS is completed with newly designed seats, which can be chosen up to four different ones and which, in total, allow five heights to be chosen. Additionally, a lower suspension can be selected as optional equipment from the factory. In this way, the range of possible seat heights ranges from 820 to 920 mm.
